World's biggest beer drinkers revealed


Some of you would assume Nigeria has got the highest drunks. Go abroad and see whats going down there.

It's official – Europeans still love their beer. According to research by Euromonitor International, China might have consumed the most beer over this year - 54 billion litres were drunk there in 2014 - but a host of European nations drank far more beer per head.

But which country came out on top? Figures are per head followed by total consumption in brackets.  See the ratings after the cut

10. Belgium: 81 litres (900m litres)

 

9. Croatia: 82 litres (346 litres)

 

8. Lithuania: 89 litres (260m litres)

 

7. Romania: 90 litres (1.8bn litres)

 

6. Ireland: 93 litres (430m litres)

 

5. Poland: 100 litres (3.8bn litres)

 

4. Estonia: 104 litres (135m litres)

 

3. Austria: 108 litres (920m litres)

 

2. Germany: 110 litres (8.9bn litres)
