23-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide

A 23-year-old man, Lucky Sunday has decided to cut short his life by hanging himself in Bukuru, Jos South local government area of Plateau State.

His mother, Cecilia Sunday found his lifeless body dangling from a rope he tied to the ceiling of her bedroom, Leadership reports. Continue.....

Recounting what happened, Cecilia said she had just returned from selling grains in the market and was drenched from the rain. She went straight to the bathroom to take off her clothes and after that tried to get into her room but it was locked from the inside.

She kept banging on the door and calling out his name but no response and after a while her neighbours told her, Lucky must have fallen asleep as they earlier heard him singing alongside a song which was being played over the radio.

Cecilia said: “After a while, I forced the door open and there he was dangling from the ceiling. I went to report the matter to the police. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

She explained that she could not fathom what would have made her son to commit suicide, adding that he had a bad temper and was always angry.According to the Plateau State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Abuh, the incident was reported to the police.
